Our law firm is based in Munich, our offices are centrally located in the green district of Alt-Bogenhausen – close to the German and European Patent Office and a short distance from the courts responsible for the protection of intellectual property, such as the Federal Patent Court and the Unified Patent Court.

We are active in all areas of intellectual property protection and work for multinational corporations as well as for small and medium-sized companies, start-ups and academic research institutions. We are sensitive to our clients’ individual needs and provide efficient, solution-oriented advice. Our client relationships have developed over time and are built on trust. Some of them have lasted for decades.

Our expertise

OUR HISTORY

Our firm has its roots in Berlin. It was founded there in 1928 by Prof. Dr. Dr. Josef Reitstötter, a renowned scientist in the field of colloid chemistry.
He was a pioneer and recognized the economic importance of patents at an early stage. In parallel to his scientific career, Reitstötter worked as a patent attorney.

When the German Patent Office was reopened in Munich in 1949, the office moved to the Bavarian capital.

In 1972, Dr. Werner Kinzebach joined the firm as a new partner and expanded the practice to include clients in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, with a particular focus on biotechnology. In 1995, the firm opened an office in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, to be closer to the major companies in this industry. Kinzebach’svisionary decisions have shaped our firm’s direction for decades.

Today, we cover all areas of intellectual property across all industries, in particular technical property rights such as patents and utility models as well as trademarks and designs.
